ABOUT US

Western New York NORML’s mission is to move public opinion sufficiently to legalize the responsible use of marijuana by adults, and to serve as an advocate for consumers to assure they have access to high-quality marijuana that is safe, convenient, and affordable. Education, support, and inclusivity of the community are key pieces in our part of ending the negative stigma of marijuana.

We support legalization that centers on community reinvestment, equity, and justice. The Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act (S.854/A.1248) comprehensively meets these goals and would set a new national model by focusing benefits on those who have been harmed by prohibition. We urge the Legislature to elevate the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act (MRTA) over Governor Cuomo’s competing proposal that maintains criminalization in marijuana enforcement while also not ensuring the benefits of legalization will be felt by the Black and brown communities that were impacted the most by marijuana prohibition.

The stakes are high in 2021 for legalization and we invite you to join us and make your voice heard! Together we can elevate the voices in our WNY community and get legalization done right.
